F.A.Q.
Q. What tools do you use to draw?
A. When I draw on paper, I sketch with regular hb pencils then I ink with a 0.5 staedtler pigment liner. Then I scan my drawings at 600dpi and color it in Photoshop.
When I draw directly on my computer, I use my Graphire4 Wacom tablet.
Q. How much did your tablet cost? Is it good enough for any kind of work?
A. I bough it in 2007 or so and it cost me 120$ CAD. The price didn’t changed much but if you buy it without the mouse (which I don’t use anyways) it’s cheaper. It fills it’s purpose nicely for me, the only reason I would change it would be because either it’s broken or I can buy a better one for a very low price. But still, the drawing area is very good to me, having a big space is cool I guess, but since I’m a bit shaky when I draw, smaller space keep me from screwing things too much. I did try bigger ones but I like my small tablet ^^
Q. Do you only use Photoshop? Which version do you use?
A. I use PS at least 90% of the time. I will use other programs sometimes for the heck of it, like Paint Tool Sai for it’s features (like rotating canvas) or Gimp for my pixel stuff .
The version I use is Photoshop CS. I don’t have the latest because… well I can’t afford it and I don’t want to crack it either. Besides, for drawing, PS CS is more than enough ^^
